Drop Me a Line!

Hello Daylily Friends,

I've had a new bloom on an old friend, which is Seedling 11-315.  I first saw it bloom two years ago, and when I saw it I thought that I had an introduction.  Then, the next year it did not bloom.  I have no idea why not.  It just didn't bloom.  So, during the fall of 2012, I split up the plant to about 9 fans, and they are all growing well in the outside garden.  Then, on Sunday morning, 11-315 did bloom, and it was even more beautiful than ever, even though it has not yet reached its full growing potential, but I have the measurements from two years ago.  I thought that you might like to see a picture of this beauty.

Diana Rae also had a wonderful bloom this morning.  She makes the most unusual diploid crosses, and she does things that I would never do.  For example, she crossed PAPA GOOSE with SUMMER FIREWORKS, but she has a brilliant red with a very attractive, diamond eyed green throat. The combination of the red and green, along with the twisting of the petals and sepals, makes her seedling one that will have to be watched the rest of the summer.  If it continues to bloom as it did this morning, then it will have to be converted.  I am seeing considerable potential.

I must tell you about Little Lily Rae.  She has a new hat that her Dad bought for her, and it is just "adorable."  The hat reads, "Drop Me a Line," and there is a fish hook and a bobber on the line sewn onto the hat.  Obviously, the hat has fishing terminology, and it is just perfect for Little Lily Rae.

  2. Many thanks about 11-315. Now I've got to grow it with some speed to get it to market.
